Phyllostachys humilis
A very hardy, running species eventually forming an open grove.
Height varies from about 8ft. (2.5m) to as much as 16ft. (5m)
Useful as a low screen or
hedge of around 11ft. (3.5m) or to stabilise steep banks.Also suitable for containers.
Plentiful purple/green canes, becoming orange-yellow with age.
Mature specimens may benefit from thinning.
Has tolerated -25C.
Useful for its vigour, hardiness, and ability to withstand trimming.
