Pleioblastus auricomus

A dwarf
bamboo with  striking golden variegated foliage.

Commonly grows 2 to 3ft.(0.75m) and may benefit from being pruned to ground level before spring in the same way as grasses as it tends to shed some of its foliage during winter. 

Has tolerated -22C. 

Slowly spreading but not invasive and can be readily controlled.

RHS. Award.

An outstanding foliage plant for the front of a border and an excellent colour contrast when grown with other types of bamboo.

 Has a wide variety of uses, including containers. 

May benefit from light shade.
