Thamnocalamus crassinodus

.

Thamnocalamus crassinodus 'Gosainkund'
(syn. 'Glauca')

A rare form of this non-running species which is slow to propagate and only available in small numbers.

The blue/grey colouration of the culms is much more pronounced in this form and the leaves are longer.

Forms a graceful specimen plant with a rather open habit and an eventual  height of about 12ft.(4m) and a spread of 75/120cm in 10 years.

A beautiful specimen plant and can also be used for screening.

Non-running.

Suitable for sun or light shade.

A superb collectors' plant but may possibly be slightly less hardy than 'Kew Beauty'. Its frost tolerance under UK conditions has yet to be fully assessed but it is believed to be about -15C.
