Fargesia scabrida

A relatively new introduction and not yet widely available.

Appears to be fully hardy.

Well worth growing for its plentiful thin, upright culms which are dark green with contrasting red or orange side shoots and distinctive willowy leaves. 

Height 10 ft. (4m) or more. Quickly forms a broad, steadily expanding clump.

An interesting specimen plant and ideal as a dense screen of between 3 to 4m  (10 to 12ft.)  

Sometimes distributed under the name of  'Asian Wonder.'
