Phyllostachys nigra 'Boryana'

A tall, vigorous variety with thick green canes. In full sun, these are  distinctively marked with brown or black spots or blotches, sometimes likened to leopard-skin. 

The growth habit is variable. Usually slowly spreading to form a small grove.

 Height 16ft.(5m) or more.

Has tolerated -20C. 

Its vigour and unusual markings make this a very distinctive variety for use as a specimen plant or screen. Unsuitable for containers.
