Pleioblastus kongosanensis 'Aureostriatus

Forms a slowly expanding clump of thin, upright culms, reaching a height of about 80/120cm..

In summer the foliage is strikingly variegated with longitudinal cream stripes but during winter it is largely shed in a similar way to that of Pleioblastus auricomus.

Mature clumps may benefit from being trimmed to ground level in winter.

Suitable for sun or semi-shade.

Has tolerated -15C.

A well behaved specimen plant for the front of a border and also suitable for containers.

A rare variety with very limited stocks at present.
