A good form of Phyllostachys aurea with yellow stems, enhanced by sunlight.
New culms are initially turquoise-green, becoming yellow in the second year.
The congested nodes characteristic of this species develop at the base of older culms.
Less tall than the type, generally reaching only about 13ft. (4m).
Usually an upright, slowly expanding clump or small grove.
Pale green foliage.
Very suitable as a specimen plant or screen.
Slow to propagate so availability may sometimes be limited.
