Semiarundinaria fastuosa 'Viridis'

(Syn. Semiarundinaria fastuosa var. viridis)


A selected form of S. fastuosa in which the culms usually remain a rich green rather than maturing to brown or purple. 

Grows taller than the type and has slightly smaller leaves. Other characteristics are similar. 

Capable of running but readily controlled. Normally develops slowly into a large clump or small grove.

A highly desirable specimen plant and very effective as a tall screen of 18ft. or more (6/8m). .

 Hardy to -25C. 

Slow to propagate and consequently sometimes in short supply.
