Borinda maccluriana KR 5177

This species is new to cultivation and so far not much is known of its characteristics.

As it was collected at an elevation of 11,000 ft. it is expected to be fully hardy in the UK. 

It is capable of quickly reaching a height of 7m. and a culm diameter of 3cm.  Average height after ten years is likely to be 15ft. (5m) with a spread of 2m.

 Appears to produce more new culms each year than other Borinda species and has good potential as a tall, non-running screen.

Originated from Station 38, Gyala, Tibet.
