Pleioblastus kongosanensis 'Aureostriatus

Forms a slowly spreading clump of thin, upright culms, reaching a height of about 80/120cm. and a diameter up to 1cm.

In summer the luxuriant foliage is strikingly variegated with longitudinal cream stripes but during winter it is largely shed in a similar way to that of Pleioblastus auricomus.

Mature plants may benefit from being trimmed to ground level in winter.

Suitable for sun or semi-shade.

Has tolerated -20C.

A highly attractive and easily managed specimen plant for the front of a border and also suitable for containers.

Would be a very effective addition to mixed plantings of ornamental grasses.

A rare variety of bamboo with  limited availabiity at present.
