A rare, slowly spreading bamboo reaching approximately 18 feet (6m).

Upright, well spaced culms with short internodes and a diameter of up to 7cm.

Usually clumping with a spread of 1/1.5m in 10 years.

Culms are initially green with a waxy bloom and mature to yellowish green.

Has tolerated -18C.

New shoots appear early and are popular for eating in China.

Sun or light shade.

An impressive specimen plant with great potential for screening when sufficient stock becomes available.
