Sasa veitchii
A hardy, shade tolerant groundcover slowly reaching about
4ft.(1.2m).
Also useful as a
specimen plant when it is particularly effective during the winter months.The culms are purple - green and there is prominent bleaching of the leaf margins in winter, giving the appearance of bold variegation.
Sun or shade . Suitable for containers.
Not so rampant as Sasa palmata but siting should take account of its ability to spread.
Has withstood -25C.
