A promising new introduction with similar uses to Semiarundinaria kagamiana, but  less tall. 

Dense, fresh looking, pale green foliage.

Tolerant of trimming and very useful for containers where the numerous new canes each year, provide a rapid effect. Ideal for quickly forming an effective screen in troughs.

Height around 10ft.(3m). 

Has withstood -22C. 

Plentiful upright culms, initially green but becoming reddish with age.

Forms an expanding open grove.

Sun or light shade.

 Useful as a vigorous screen of medium height.
