.
Yushania maculata
Very distinctive upright blue-grey canes, eventually becoming olive
green.Height 10 to 12ft.(3.5m).
Glossy narrow leaves.
Moderately spreading.
Suitable for sun or light shade.
Has tolerated -20C.
A fairly recent introduction from Yunnan where it grows at 6,000 to 11,000 feet.
The willowy leaves and unusual colouration of the culms provide a very effective contrast with other species.
An excellent specimen plant where space is available. Also has good potential for use in containers.
Could make a good low screen if controlled.
